Is Rust a Problem with an Armor Shield Roof System?
No! In fact, Steel Roof panels are made from high quality 26gauge, pre-primed, Galvalume steel that is coated with an acrylic basecoat. The combination of the Galvalume steel which is an alloy of steel and aluminum with zinc forms a durable panel that will reseal itself if cut or damaged, not allowing it to form rust on the surface. Ceramic earth-stone granules are then embedded over this panel in a basecoat of epoxy resin. Finally, a clear acrylic over-glaze is applied and baked on. For painted metal roofs the process is similar but incorporates a polymer paint instead of granules. This provides your home with a long-lasting, durable and fade-resistant protection for a lifetime of enjoyment. The roof will remain looking the same year 50 as it does the day it was installed.
Is Hail Damage a Problem?
